Zizzi Italian

Student Eats Glasgow - Zizzi  Zizzi is an Italian restaurant chain based all over the UK supplying a large menu with a modern twist from the traditional styles of many other Italian restaurants.  The Atmosphere - 5/5 This restaurant was so pretty, it was colourful and light with features such as a swinging bench and plants both physical and painted on the wall. It felt like a really relaxed and playful setting which I loved.  The Food - 4/5 There were so many options on the menu and all of them looked amazing, eventually I decided on a spicy salami and nduja pizza. It was marked as a "Zizzi Favourite" and I can see why, it was so tasty and filling. I went with a group of 5 and every single meal looked just as good as mine, if not better.  The Service - 5/5  The service here was 5 stars, the girl who served us was friendly and helpful when we asked to taste wine and were likely the most difficult customers when trying to split our bill. She was positive and happy to help the e

Bar Soba

Student Eats Glasgow - Bar Soba

Bar Soba is an Asian Fusion Street food restaurant serving both food and drinks. The menu options and cocktails are original and different from traditional Asian restaurants.

The Atmosphere - 5/5

This Bar Soba trip I visited the Merchant Square location, which is in my opinion, the best. Any restaurant that sits in the communal area of Merchant Square is guaranteed to have pretty surroundings with the cobbled ground and fairy lights draped across the high ceilings. Within Bar Soba itself there is a lot of Asian culture inspired graffiti style art on the walls.

The Food - 2/5

I am so upset to say that the food has gone notably downhill. I got a selection of three small plates, Korean Fried Chicken which was the best of the lot, Chicken Satay which had no flavour and Dirty Katsu Fries which were okay but nothing special. I don't like to be negative but after recent trips it's not somewhere I'd rush back to.

The Service - 5/5

I have only good things to say about the service, staff were friendly and helpful when seating us and serving throughout the meal. The ordering process has changed with a QR code you scan to see the menu, order, and pay.

The Price - 2/5

The initial pricing of the menu was decent, not particularly expensive with the small plates charging close to £5 for each. My meal without the discount would have cost me £16.75 which is decent for a meal but there are definitely cheaper options.

The Deals and Discounts - 5/5

This is likely the best deal I will come across in this blog, to get 50% off your entire bill and 25% off drinks is a massive discount and makes all the difference. I may not have loved the meal but for £13 between two of us it was tasty enough.

If you would like to have a better look, here's a video I found on Youtube.

Overall Average Rating - 3.8/5
